 | Many pipe smokers have likely smoked a pipe made by Mogens Johansen without even realizing it. For many years, he made pipes for Bjarne Nielsen, and these pipes were not stamped with his name. Therefore, few people, apart from tourists visiting his workshop in Ravenhøj, knew who Johs truly was. But when Bjarne passed away suddenly and unexpectedly in 2008, Johs was forced to make a name for himself and begin selling his pipes on his own. His first step toward recognition, like many pipemakers today, was to visit the pipe fair in Chicago.
