Born in Milan in 1958, Angelo Fassi began smoking pipes at the age of 14. Just two years later, at the age of 16, a visit to the Caminetto pipe factory transformed his perspective on pipes. Originally a dentist, Angelo Fassi visited the Cagli Pipe Festival in 2007 to meet new pipe makers like Gabriele Dal Fiume and Massimiliano Rimensi. Things changed during his visit the following year, and he began making pipes himself. While Angelo Fassi initially preferred making free-style polished pipes, he gradually transitioned back to sandblasted pipes and classic shapes. For mouthpieces, Angelo Fassi primarily uses Cumberland and for stems, he prefers Mimmo Briar.
