 | Alexander Sokolik was born in Kiev, Ukraine, in 1966. He served as an officer in the Air Force for 14 years. He studied engineering, economics, and management. One day in late 2011, his world changed when he saw a YouTube video of a Tom Eltang pipe. Sokolik, fueled by the desire to make a pipe as beautiful as Eltang's, didn't know how to make one, but he gradually learned, eventually making his first. Like almost every beginner, he began his career by copying the familiar forms of renowned masters, but he quickly found his own style, replacing replica pipes. |
